John Robert Rehm, 89, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024. He was born May 28, 1934, in Springfield, Ohio. Renowned for his steadfast dedication to his work and constant tinkering, he possessed a deep fondness for trains and tractors. However, what truly filled his heart with joy were the precious moments spent with his great-grandchildren, their visits bringing him immeasurable delight. Above all, his faithful companion Bella, the beloved yellow Labrador retriever, held a special place in his heart. John worked as an Inspector in Quality Control and was a veteran of the Army/National Guard. John is survived by his wife, Rita M. (Hammond) Rehm, children, Jeff R. (Louise) Rehm, Barry L. Rehm, grandchildren, Elisabeth A. (Jason) Gelhar, Joshua A. Rehm, Tyler J. (Nikki) Mitchell, Zack McCauley, Tamara Pastor and Chris Pastor, and great-grandchildren, Evan, Roman, Ellasyn, Quinn, Hunter, Madelyn and Peter John. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Geraldine (Shively) Rehm and his grandson Jeremy R. Rehm. A private family gathering to celebrate John’s life will be held at a future date.
