Lavina Gallagher Church

Lavina Gallagher Church, 80, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2024, in Northwood Care Center. She was born March 23, 1944, in Springfield, the daughter of Charles and Sara (Mershon) Gallagher. Lavina enjoyed working puzzles and spending time with her loving family. She was a people person. Mrs. Church had been employed at Big Bear, Fulmer’s, the Kissel Company and Eaglewood Care Center. She is survived by one son; Tony Byerman, grandchildren; Ashley (Dylan) Greer, Brittany Harmon and Lindsey Byerman, Beth Paulsen, great grandchildren; Dylan, Austin, Luka, Rylan, Paul, Amaya, Carter, Noland and Nora, siblings; Sandy Vertrees, Gene Hill, Michael O’Brien and Tammy Minerd and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son. T. J. Byerman, the father of her children; Thomas Byerman Sr., siblings; Rick Gallagher, Hazel Stonerock, adopted parents; Hazel and Tom Griffith and her parents. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Lavina’s life will be held form 6:00PM until 8:00PM Thursday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Condolences may be shared at www.jkzfh.com.
