Charles Kenneth “Charlie” Koster, 96, of Springfield, passed away January 24, 2019. He was born October 1, 1922 in Ironton, Ohio, the son of John and Tina (Arbaugh) Koster. Charlie was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had retired from International Harvester following many years of employment. He was a dedicated member of Emmanuel’s Promise Church and an avid bowler. Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Naomi (Johnson) Koster; son, William “Bill” Koster; granddaughter, Christi Carrington; great-grandson, Jakob Harris; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Tim Burton, Roger Love, and Joe Webb. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clifford, Calvin, and Curtis Koster, and his parents. Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Wallace Mason officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Condolences may be shared at www.jkzfh.com.
