Goldie P. Smith (Coblentz) passed away on October the 6th. She was born on September 5th, 1920 in Greene County, Ohio. She is survived by her two daughters; Sandra (Sandy) Winkey and her husband James Winkey and Karen Purdy and her husband Dr. Robert Purdy. She was preceded in death by her first husband Fred Coblentz and her second husband Walter Smith. She had four grandchildren; Heather Guisinger and her husband Mark, Amy Sexton and her husband Gary, Lauren Mitchell, and Spencer Mitchell and his wife Abby. Additionally, she had two great grandchildren, Emily and Hanna Guisinger. She also had a very special niece Norma Harris. She had many friends and neighbors who loved her. Her longtime companion, Mr. Charles Burchett, will miss her very much. Dr. and Mrs. Ravi Khanna and their two sons were part of her extended family and will sadly miss her. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and was involved in many of the women’s group functions at the church. She volunteered over 5000 hours of service in various departments at Mercy Medical Center. She also volunteered at the Clark County Sheriff’s office. She was a loving mother and wife who always put service to others as a priority in her life and taught those lessons to her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Thursday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services. She will be buried in Beavertown Cemetery, Kettering, OH beside her beloved first husband Fred Coblentz. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
