Hobart Parker, Jr.

Hobart Parker Jr., 69, of Springfield, passed away December 7, 2018 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 1, 1949 in Springfield, the son of Hobert and Geneva (Richardson) Parker, Sr. Mr. Parker was a member of the Eagles #397, the D. A. V. and was retired for the Clark County Commissioners Office. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Marine Corp. Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years; Patricia (Shanahan) Parker, his mother; Geneva Parker, Springfield, six children; John (Ronda) Parker, Springfield, Patricia Sue Pelfrey, Urbana, Caroline (Rick) Hartman, London, Mary Parker, Springfield, Kathy Parker, Fairborn and Thomas (Shannon) Parker, New Carlisle, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister; Phyllis Flanery, Plattsburg, two brothers; Jim Parker and Charles Parker, Springfield and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother; Bill Parker. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 8:0PM Tuesday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday in the funeral home with Deacon Norm Horstman officiating. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
