Jerry Wallace Salyers

Jerry Wallace Salyers, 78, of Springfield, passed away November 8, 2018 in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 24, 1940 in Jackson, Ohio, the son of Walter R. and Mary E. (Gruber) Salyers. Jerry was a member of the Victory Faith Center. He enjoyed watching football and Walker, carving canes and spending time with his family. He was retired from the Clark County Engineers following 31 years of service. Survivors include his loving companion; Debbie Clauer, seven children; Walter (Annette) Salyers, Springfield, Tammy (Tom) Newman, Troy, Aaron (P.J.) Salyers, Springfield, Lavona (Mike) Salyers. Urbana, Honey (Ryan) Folk, San Antonio, TX, Davina (Michael) Wright, Englewood and Harmony (Jamie) Mahaffy, Canada, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; Phyllis Ann Salyers, a son; Michael Salyers, two brothers; Don and Chuck Salyers a sister; Sue Lafayette and his parents. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Tuesday in the Victory Faith Center, 424 South Fountain Avenue, with Pastors Pauline Hamblin and Carla Laux officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00AM until the time of the services in the church. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
