Michael Wayne Matthews Sr.

     Michael Wayne Matthews Sr., 65, of South Vienna,, passed away November 17, 2019 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born May 27, 1954 in Sandusky, Ohio, the son of Norbert and Betty (Sowards) Matthews. Mr. Matthews will always be remembered as a very loving and caring man. He had been employed at Rollins for 18 years as a foreman, Survivors include his wife; Darlene, his children; Heather (Bill) Frye, South Vienna, Jeremy Matthews, Kim (Chris) Schilling and Michael (Alyce) Matthews all of Springfield, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, siblings; Diane Fee, Carol (Eric) Bohl, Doug Matthews, Norbert Matthews, Paul Matthews, Vonda Matthews, Yvonne (Pete) Malonado, half-brothers and sisters; Lee Welch, Dean Stout, Patty (Angelo), Rita (Greg), Debbie Ramon, Danny (Janet), sister in law; Malinda Matthews, mother in law; Pauline Knott, mother in law; Nadine, many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by a son; John Earl, son in law: Danny Sherrock, brothers; Gary Matthews and Tim Matthews, father; Norbert Matthews, mother; Betty Reedy, brother in law; Larry Fee and father in law; Harold Knott. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Monday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jackie Mounts officiating. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services.
