Roy Thomas Mollett Sr., 80, of Springfield, went home to the Lord April 23, 2019 in his home surrounded by his loving family, following a long battle with leukemia. He was born September 9, 1938 in Whitehouse, Kentucky, the son of Russell and Emma (Cox) Mollett. Roy worked many years as a brick layer and mason. He was very proud of his skills and did wonderful work. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and watching ball games. He was a jack of all trades with a heart of gold and would give anyone the shirt off his back or the last dollar in his pocket. He lived a long and happy life and never met a stranger. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years; Della (Stapleton) Mollett, four children; Deborah (Jim) Nichols, Emma (Richard) Wallace, Roy Thomas Mollett Jr. and Mikel Mollett all of Springfield. Roy had tons of grandchildren, great grandchildren and even great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Estel, Elmer, Smiley, Jack, Ronnie and Charlie, sister; Dorine and two special grandchildren; Schuyler and Kristy. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Steve Wallace officiating. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service.
