William J. “Bill” Curtis, 90, of Springfield, went home to be with his Lord September 10, 2018 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born December 26, 1927 in Wheelwright, Kentucky, the son of William N. and Ethel Marie (Mays) Curtis. Mr. Curtis was a member of the Hillside Avenue Church of God. He enjoyed bowling, playing euchre, watching football and baseball and spending time with his family. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during W. W. II and was retired from International Harvester following 33 years of service. Survivors include six children; Anna Gordon (Ted Davis), Columbus, Tom (Deb) Curtis, Springfield, Bill E. Curtis (Amanda Kiskis), Urbana, Dawn R. Malloy, Bellefontaine, Rubie (Craig) Taseff, Springfield and Chris Curtis, North Dakota, 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter; Pam Curtis, a son; Jack Curtis, a granddaughter; Victoria Malloy, a great granddaughter; Elizabeth Arnold and his parents. Visitation will be held from 3:00PM until 7:00PM Thursday in the Hillside Avenue Church of God, 2021Hillside Avenue, Springfield. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Friday in the church with Pastor Ron Lanthrop officiating with additional visitation for one hour prior to the services.
