In Loving Memory of Ambrose "Frank" Franklin Allen Jr.
December 17, 1946 – April 18, 2025
Ambrose Franklin Allen Jr., lovingly known as “Frank” to all who knew him, passed away on April 18, 2025, at the age of 78.
Born on December 17, 1946, Frank lived a life full of hard work, laughter, and unwavering loyalty to the people he loved. A dedicated truck driver, he retired from Active USA after many years on the road. Frank was a proud member of the Free Masons, a social member at the DAV (Disabled American Veterans), and a member of the Teamsters Union.
Frank found joy in the simple things—casting a line on a quiet day, playing cards with friends, restoring old cars, fixing clocks, and savoring a cold beer. He was a man of many hands-on talents and an even bigger heart. His two beloved Old English Bulldogs, Wally and Boomer, were his constant companions. Wally, who Frank personally picked out, carries his personality like a mirror—stubborn, tough, and lovable in all the same ways.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlotte Hoagland and Ambrose Franklin Allen Sr.; his children, Ambrose Franklin Allen III and Sherry L. Grim Parker; and his siblings, James Allen, Jerrie Mollett, and Betty Jane Ward.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Deborah K. Allen; his stepsons, Justin Thomason and Zachary Thomason; and his daughter-in-law Abby Thomason, who he loved like one of his own. He leaves behind a proud legacy through his grandchildren: Dustin Grim, Cody Grim, Jessie Thomason, Zoey Thomason, Zachary Jo Robert Thomason, and several others—along with a growing number of great-grandchildren who were blessed to know him and carry on his spirit.
He will be remembered for his strength, humor, and deep love for family. Frank leaves behind a legacy of grit, warmth, and stories that will live on for years to come.
May he rest peacefully, with a beer in hand, Wally at his side, and the sun on his face.
There will be a celebration of life for Frank at the DAV on May 18th, 2025 at 1:00 PM. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend.
