Anita Yvonne Abbott

     Anita Yvonne Abbott, 67, of Springfield, passed away December 17, 2024, in Southbrook Care Center. She was born August 25, 1957, in Springfield, the daughter of Cleveland and Mildred (Rice) Abbott. Anita was a member of the New Fair Street Christian Church. She was also a member of the Jobs Corp and the American Thespian Society. Anita performed as an actress and had played the role of Glinda the Good Witch in the play The Wiz. She also worked in health care. Survivors include her mother; Mildred Abbott, siblings; Vivian (Eric) Bruce, Gregory Abbott and Eric (Felicia) Abbott and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings; Karen Abbott and Mark Abbott and her father. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
