Arlene P. (Tanz) Ray

Arlene P. Ray, 79, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2024, in Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born on October 15, 1945, in Frohna, Missouri, the daughter of Otto H. and Cora E. (Kranawetter) Tanz. Arlene was a member of the Hillside Avenue Church of God. She enjoyed working with her flowers and doing embroidery. She had been employed as a custodian for the Springfield City Schools and had retired after 30 years of service. Survivors include one son; Ivan Burkhardt of Springfield, siblings; Dolores V. Mueller, Arnold, Missouri, Robert O. (Doris) Tanz, Perryville, Missouri and Janice R. Simpson, Springfield and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; Ralph E. Ray and her parents. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until 1:00PM Friday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will follow at 1:00PM. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
