Arlie Alan Ray Sr., 78, of Springfield passed away November 21, 2024, in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born August 7, 1946, in Springfield, the son of Gene and Betty (Potter) Ray. Arlie enjoyed playing country music, working on cars (he could fix anything), and camping with his family. He had been employed in his family’s business Ray’s Blacktop. Survivors include four children; Richard “Richie” (Angela “Angie”) Ray, Arlie Alan “Little Arlie” (Gina) Ray Jr., Guy “Guy Guy” Ray, and Joey Munz, grandchildren; Travis (Yvonne) Leonard, Kierstyn (Tori) Ray, Shayne (Kristin) Ray, Britani (Grace) Ray, Guy Ray, Hailey Ray, Alanna, Paris, and Jo Jo Jr., great grandchildren; Makinley, Skyla, and Malachi, siblings; Patty Ray, David Ray, and Rodney Ray, longtime companion, Regina Ray, nephews; Bub Ray, Alan Stamper, and Bobby Stamper, and special friend Elaine Snyder. He was preceded in death by siblings; Richard Ray, Roger Cruitt, and Diana Stratton, niece; Janie Stamper, and his parents. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Arlie’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 3 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
