Barbara Ann O'Neal

Barbara Ann O’Neal, 84, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away with her daughters, Amy & Beth, and her grandson, Ross, by her side on December 17, 2024. Barb was born on January 21,1940 in Springfield Ohio to the late Jane (Parker) Finfrock. Barb graduated in 1958 from Sunnyvale High School in Sunnyvale, CA. She married the love of her life, John (Jack) P. O’Neal (deceased) on October 6, 1962 in Springfield, Ohio. They were married for over 38 years. She worked for Community Hospital as a switchboard operator for many years. Barb and Jack enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas. Barb loved life which included, spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking for friends and family. She was well known for her “made from scratch noodles”, a tradition passed down by her Mother. She is survived by 2 daughters, Amy (Kerby) Gaffney; Elizabeth (John) Ayars; 6 grandchildren Cole Gaffney, Brandon (Kelsie) Wirth, Ross Ayars, Caleb Wirth, Alex Wirth, and Brianna Wirth; 2 great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Ledger Wirth; her sister-in-law, Judy Finfrock; lifelong friend, Verieda Ware and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, daughter, Tricia O’Neal Wirth, brother, Bill Finfrock, infant brother, Jackie Finfrock; special Aunt and Uncle, Mary and Stan Colliver; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Larry & Sue Patton; sister-in-law Marlene Von Hapsburg; sister-in-law Jeanne Folden; nephew, Jon Patton; special friend, Alberta Secrist; fur babies, Little Miss Muffin, Chief, Maggie, Lizzie, and Molly Tessa. Barb will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew her. Per her request, a private service will be held for her immediate family. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
