Brenda L. (Setty) Cook

Brenda L. Cook, 79, of Springfield, passed away June 9, 2026 at Springfield Regional Hospital. She was born December 13, 1946 in Springfield, the daughter of O.M. and Edith (Shelton) Setty. Brenda retired from Navistar, where she had worked for 36 years. She was a member of Maiden Lane Church of God. She was a loving wife to Larry Cook for 40 years, a loving mother to Sam McFarland, and a loving stepmother to Linda Sanders and Bruce Cook. Other survivors include her beloved nephews and niece, Kerby and Kerry Gaffney, Mike Gaffney, and Shelly Whitaker; and brother-in-law, Don Gaffney. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Linda Gaffney. Private services will be held for Brenda’s family before she is laid to rest at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
