Bruce "Pops" Wayne Shackelford

Bruce Wayne “Pops” Shackelford, 64, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Good Shepherd Village. He was born December 23, 1960 in Springfield, the son of Charlotte Gayle (Keating) and Glenn H. Shackelford, Sr. Bruce had attended Shawnee High School and worked in the maintenance department at Klosterman’s Bakery for many years. Pops was the Treasurer of the Regulators Motorcycle Organization. Besides riding his bike, he also enjoyed going to car shows and listening to live music. Survivors include his son, Coleman Shackelford; sister, Janet (Charlie) Loudermilk; brothers, Glenn Shackelford, Jr. and Mark Shackelford; niece, Amber; adopted son, Brian Michael Fitch; his faithful companion, Ozzy; and his brothers and sisters from the club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mitzi Michelle (Dotson) Shackelford in 2008; his girlfriend, Candy Elliott; nephews, Jason and Jeffery; and his parents. Special thank you to the staff at Good Shepherd Village and Interim Hospice for their wonderful care. A celebration of life will be held from 2-4 pm on Saturday March 22, 2025 at the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME, followed by Pops’ final ride.
