Carl Edward Baker, 64, of Springfield passed away March 10, 2026, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 1, 1962, in Springfield, the son of Earl and Mary (Travis) Baker.
He found great joy in life’s simple moments. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and spending time with his brother watching wrestling. In his later years, he rediscovered his love of golf and treasured the time spent on the green with his friends and his son. He also loved the beach and shared many special memories with his wife and family, enjoying the ocean and time together.
Above all, his greatest joy was being a grandfather. He cherished time with his grandsons, taking them to the car shows he loved, walking together on Halloween night, and sharing many small but meaningful moments that will be forever remembered.
He worked at Rittal prior to his retirement. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Nancy (Kilgore) Baker; two children, Ericka Edwards (Lisa) and Charlie Edwards (Jacqui); five grandsons, Brayden James, Benson Barton, Dean Carl, Baily Maroney, and Corbin Maroney; siblings, Nellie Belew and Ron Baker; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Matt Delong and Mark Travis. He was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Baker, and his parents. Private services will be held with his family at a later time. Condolences may be shared at www.jkzfh.com.
