Carolyn Sue Dewell

Carolyn Sue Dewell, 76, of Springfield, passed away September 4, 2023 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born August 25, 1947 in Urbana, the daughter of William Gale and Alphretta (Wallace) Fleming. Carolyn had worked at the Kissell Company, OIC, and Dairy Yum Yum. She enjoyed taking computer classes and working on computers, playing video games, and doing word puzzles. Survivors include Carolyn’s daughter, Krista (Darryl) Evans; grandchildren, Tyler D. and Brayden Lee Evans, Brittany Carol Mullins; one great-grandchild on the way; sister, Jonica Hamilton; and two nieces, Nicole Young and Brooke Hoffman; special friend of 60 years, Joyce Tolle. She was preceded in death by her son, William Raymond Fife, and her parents. A memorial gathering will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, September 18, 2023 at the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
