Charles E.L. Finch

Charles E.L. Finch, 68, of Springfield, went home to be with the Lord, as well as his mother, grandparents, and sister, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 following a long and hard fought battle with cancer. Charles was born in Springfield on December 15, 1956. He had attended South High School and was an honorable veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was the owner/operator of his own trucking firm for over 30 years. Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Cherri (Hinkle) Finch; brothers, Floyd F. Finch and Dennis Gibson, Jr.; stepfather, Dennis Gibson, Sr.; special cousins, Kevin Finch, Paul Finch, and Herbert Finch, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth (Finch) Gibson, and sister, Lisa Gibson. An open house to celebrate Charles’ life will be held this Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Charles and Cherri’s home. Family and friends are invited to stop in anytime between 11 am and 6 pm.
