Chris Murray

Christopher “Chris” Murray, 77, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born April 15, 1948, in Springfield, the son of Arby and Eva (Castle) Murray. Chris proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from International Harvester following a career of 30 years. He enjoyed traveling in his RV, especially to the beaches of South Padre Island in Texas. Survivors include four children, Christopher Lee Murray, Keira Johnson (Ben), Rachel Luellen (Jarrod), and Sean Luellen (Chastidy); sisters, Hester P. Murray-Lambert and Judy L. Murray-Holbrook; brother, Roy Lee (Bettie) Murray; grandchildren, Andrea, Aiden, Owen, Eckin, Saraya, and Silas; and many nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Misty Trapp, Kathy Murray, and Jenet Cornetet. He was preceded in death by his parents and 12 brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Friends may visit with the family from 10-11 am. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Vernon Asbury Cemetery. Condolences may be shared online at www.jkzfh.com.
