Cody "CJ" Lee Jackson

Cody Lee Jackson “CJ”, 34, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on June 30, 2026. He was born November 4, 1991 in Springfield to Steve Jackson and Chandra Trobaugh.

Cody was the oldest of two children, and he was his sister’s rock. Destiny Nicole was Cody’s rock too. They had an unbreakable connection. With just one call, he would be right there for her.

Cody loved the outdoors; he loved floating down the river for hours with family and friends. Every chance he got, he would spend a day on the river fishing, waiting for that “monster fish.” He loved having bonfires and sitting around drinking beer with friends. He enjoyed taking his children, nieces and nephews, and cousins on adventures with him. Whether they were walking trails, fishing, or camping, Cody made sure that every adventure was a story to tell, a memory to hold, and a lesson taught.

His children were his life. He would go to the ends of the earth for them. He always talked about them and was proud of each of them in every way.

Cody’s dad was a big part of his life. He knew that if he needed him, Steve would always be there. Cody didn’t let anybody talk bad about his dad. He loved him deeply.

Cody was strong, a “Superman” and a hard worker. He worked for Tommy Boyts for many years and more recently for National Tire & Battery. He was always working and staying busy. He was a jack of all trades and could do anything that was asked of him. If you couldn’t get something done, you knew to call Cody and he would have it done in half the time. Cody took a couple of his cousins under his wings and was teaching them his good work ethics.

Cody was preceded in death by his grandparents, Randolph and Mary Jackson; grandmother, Gloria Hypes; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his good friend, Christian Wright.

He is survived by his father, Steve Jackson; mother, Chandra Trobaugh; sister, Destiny Jackson; brother-in-law, Brett Cox; stepmom, Les Fenwick; his children, Brayden Jackson, Makenna Jackson, and Leeland Jackson; niece and nephews, who were very special to him, Jae’lyn, Jacob, Jayden, and Junior; close cousins who were like siblings, Amanda Walden, Savannah (Hall) Hay, Geoffrey Swaney, Marybeth Hall; Aunt Murray.

Cody was supposed to be invincible. He was and still is a LEGEND to many. To everyone, Cody was “SUPERMAN.”

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. Condolences may be shared online at www.jkzfh.com.
