It is with deep sorrow that the family of Darrell "Boo" McBrayer announces his passing on June 9, 2024, at the age of 61, in North Port, Florida. Born on August 20, 1962, in Springfield, Ohio, Darrell was a man of great humor and warmth, whose presence was a comfort and joy to all who knew him. Darrell served his country honorably as an Airman in the United States Air Force, displaying a steadfast commitment to his duties and fellow service members. Upon completing his military service, he embarked on a rewarding career with Honda, where he was respected for his work ethic and camaraderie. Later in life, Darrell found a new calling, bringing smiles to those he encountered at the Bargain Barn in North Port, FL. An enthusiast of NASCAR and firearms, Darrell's hobbies mirrored his love for his country and the freedoms it represents. His patriotism was matched only by his dedication to his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved son Mik (Jessica) McBrayer, his sister Tonya (Dwight) Driever, his treasured grandchildren, and a host of nieces and great-nephew, a lifetime full of friends and special colleagues. His devoted companion, Buggs the Chihuahua, will miss him dearly. Darrell was predeceased by his mother, Mary Campbell, who instilled in him the values of kindness and respect that he carried throughout his life. Funeral services on July 13, 2024 from 1-3pm will be managed by Jones, Zechman, & Kenny Funeral Home in Springfield, Ohio, who are honored to serve the McBrayer family during this time of remembrance. Darrell "Boo" McBrayer will be remembered as a man of integrity, whose laughter and love left a lasting impression on those around him.
