David V Lower, 67 of Springfield, passed away peacefully in his home, Monday November 18, 2024, after a lengthy illness. He was born August 17, 1957, to Raymond & Glenora Lower. David was a 1976 graduate of Springfield JVS where he took welding. After graduation, David took over the family business, Lower Well Drilling, becoming a third generation well driller for over 30 years. He was currently employed at Eastern Enterprise as a machinist. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, dancing, having cookouts - known for his butter beans and ham cooked in a cast iron pot, watching "The 3 Stooges" and "The Benny Hill Show" and going mushroom hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond & Glenora. Left to miss him dearly and cherish his memory are his four children: Valarie (Mark) Cloud, Steven (Amanda) Lower, Julie (Paul) Lower, Tabitha (Brian) Lower, seven grandchildren: J.D. (Learic) McMahan, Christopher McMahan, Nihkya Stultz, Hailey Lower, James Alcorn, Lacie Jessee and Ellie Newman and many other family members and friends. The family would like to give a heartfelt "thank you" to Via Quest Hospice of Marysville for their wonderful care, especially Kasey, Tonya and Alisha. A private graveside service will be held at Glen Haven at the family's convenience and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
