Diane Haines Obituary

Diane Margaret Haines, 88, of Springfield, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2026, peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on June 12, 1938, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Diane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Haines.

She is lovingly survived by her chosen family; daughters, Tammy (Barry) Parcels of Urbana, Ohio, Christina Rose and Esther Rose, both of Springfield, Ohio; and by her cherished grandchildren, Madison Rose (Jordon Miller), Lauren Rose (Billy Reed Bodey), and Landon Rose (Courtney Kettler), all of Springfield, Ohio. She also leaves behind extended family, dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness and generous heart.

A devoted Catholic, Diane found great comfort and joy in her faith and loved spending time at St. Mary's Church in Urbana. Her faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her with unwavering strength, compassion, humility, and grace. She believed in treating everyone with kindness and had a remarkable ability to make those around her feel welcomed, loved, and accepted.

Later in life, Diane discovered a passion for painting and became a talented artist, selling many of her beautiful works. Her paintings reflected the beauty she saw in the world and brought joy to many. She inspired her granddaughter to pursue art as well, leaving behind not only treasured paintings but also a lasting legacy of creativity, encouragement, and imagination.

Diane found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved camping beneath the stars, fishing on quiet mornings, preparing home-cooked meals for those she loved, and gathering family together whenever she could. She had a warm smile, a caring heart, and a gentle spirit that brought comfort to everyone around her.

Above all else, Diane treasured her family. Her grandchildren were the greatest joy of her life and the center of her world. She celebrated their accomplishments, offered unwavering support through life's challenges, and filled their lives with unconditional love, wisdom, laughter, and cherished memories. The lessons she taught, the traditions she created, and the love she shared will continue to live on through generations.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and aides at Oakwood Village for the years of love, kindness, and compassionate care they provided. A special thank you is extended to Ida Rafferty and her hospice aide, Sami, whose exceptional care, devotion, and friendship meant so much to Diane and her family. The family also wishes to thank Affinity Hospice for their compassionate support and outstanding care during Diane's final journey.

Though Diane's presence will be deeply missed, the love she gave so freely, the faith she lived by, the beauty she created through her artwork, and the countless memories she leaves behind will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her legacy is one of faith, compassion, creativity, resilience, and unconditional love—a legacy that will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know her.

A Gathering of Remembrance will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Jones Kenney Zechman Funeral Home.
