Donald Ray Rice, 83, of Springfield, passed away July 5, 2025, in Allen View Healthcare Center. He was born on July 7, 1941, in Paintsville, Kentucky the son of Kenneth Wallace and Missouri Zue (Hannah) Rice, Sr. Mr. Rice enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. He served in the United States Army and had been employed at International Harvester. He also had his own construction business and lawn care service. Survivors include his children; Lisa Rice-Beedy, Beverly Beatty, Angelique Polizzi, Barton W. Rice, and Elise Addison Rice, grandchildren; Lester Triplett, Clarissa McClarty, Latosha (Tony) Fannon, all of Springfield, Kayla A. Rice of Gothenburg, Sweden, Amanda Reid of Columbus, OH, Steven (Sandra) Brewer of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ashley Minton of Little Rock, Arkansas, Anthony (Tracy) Nance of Madison, Wisconsin, Annette Nance of Houston, Texas, Dexter Hoover, and Oliver Hoover, both of Springfield, Ohio, great-grandchildren; Tylif McClarty, McKyale McClarty, Nathan McClarty, Destiny Fannon, Skyla Fannon, Noel Fannon, all of Springfield, Ohio, Sebastian Borg of Gothenburg, Sweden, Corban Triplett of Springfield, Ohio, Daisha Mercer, Kyla Soller, Wanda Cornell, Rickey Cornell III, Evea Cornell, all of Youngstown, Ohio, Ciraya Kennedy, Raigen Brewer, Ethan Brewer, Elijah Brewer, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Gianna Brewer, Kennedy Smith, both of Little Rock, Arkansas, Anthony Nance, Jr., Niyana Nance, Ny’Lani Nance, all of Wisconsin, great-great-grandchildren; Amelia McClarty, Jaxton McClarty, and Titus McClarty, Donald’s former spouse; Tanya Rice, siblings; Alvada Stanley, Kenneth Rice Jr., Keith (Jessica) Rice, and Kevin (Cathryn) Rice, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings; Addison, Rice, Elwood Rice, John Rice, Delmar Rice Sr., Ruth Smith, and Lillian Naman. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Thursday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM with Pastor Marshall Wilbur officiating.
