Douglas Lyn “Doug” Hawks, 65, of South Charleston, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Villa Springfield. He was born on July 30, 1960 in Springfield, the son of Fred and Fannie (Kunkle) Hawks. Doug had graduated from Greenon High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from Springfield Metropolitan Housing Authority. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. Survivors include his loving wife, Bonnie (Rinehart) Hawks; four children, Gloria (Chip) Hobbs, Doug Parrett, Angie (Vern) Horne, and Tonya (Ron) Traudt; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Lipscomb, Amber (Jason) Willis, Jami (Dana) Rothery, Ashle Parrett Karjala, Tyler (Kaylie) Parrett, John (Lindsey) Horne, Darien Carter, and Amen Traudt; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and a great-great-granddaughter on the way; and his dear friend, Gary Rodgers. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister. Doug had a great love for animals, especially for his fur-babies, Johnny and Dragon, and his beloved Zeus, who preceded him in death.
