Elizabeth “Liz” Howard, 87, of Springfield, passed away peacefully September 22, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 30, 1938, in Louisa, Kentucky, the daughter of Leander Burt and Martha (Moore) Moore, Sr. Liz was a long-time dedicated member of the Woodstock Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles with her husband Jimmie and spending time with her beloved family. She retired from Meijer. Survivors include her loving husband; Jimmie J. Howard, three children; James Bryan Howard (Helen), Julie Weeks (Larry) and Jeffery Estill Howard, grandchildren; Ryan Weeks, Timothy Weeks, Allen Howard, Megan Howard, Amber Green, Tiffany Tester, and Marcus Healy, five great-grandsons, one great-great-grandson, one brother; Leander Burt Moore Jr. (Evelyn) and many nieces and nephews, including Kenneth Howard. Liz was preceded in death by her parents. A celebration of Liz’s life will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, September 27, 2025, in the Woodstock Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Russell Street officiating. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Pathways at the Springfield Masonic Community.
