Ethel "Sissy" Louise (Ratliff) Perry

Ethel Louise “Sissy” (Ratliff) Perry, 77, of Springfield, passed away August 5, 2025 in her home. She was born January 16, 1948 in Springfield, the daughter of Mary Louise (Malone) and Lawrence Ratliff, Sr. Following her birth, the family moved to Ironton, Ohio, where Sissy grew up. She was a member of the Christian Heritage Church of Christ in Christian Union. She enjoyed southern gospel music, birdwatching with a special affinity for cardinals and peacocks, and taking trips to the Great Smoky Mountains. Survivors include her five children, Patricia “Dianne” Wooten, Edith Anne Hoffman, Carol Louise Davis, Lawrence Carl Perry, and Amber Dawn (Tim) Owings; grandchildren, Rebekah, John, David, Ashley, Miranda, Heather, Alicia, Tyler, Hannah, Jacob, Rhiannon, and Tobias; her dear sister, Mary Ellen Davis, who took great care of Sissy; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Carl Perry. Their anniversary was August 6, so they were able to celebrate it together again. Also preceding Sissy were her parents and four siblings, Lawrence Ratliff Jr., Dale Eugene Ratliff, William Thomas Ratliff, and Nellie Ann Jeavons. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday at the Christian Heritage CCCU, 820 Victory Rd. Springfield, with Pastor Tim Aaron Young officiating. Friends may call from 1-2 pm.
