George Franklin Barnhouse Jr., 64, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in Springfield Reginal Medical Center. He was born June 17, 1961, in Charleston, West Virginia the son of George Franklin and Norma Jean (Fore) Barnhouse Sr. Mr. Barnhouse enjoyed hunting and spending time with his loving family. He had been employed as a floor installer and was a Veteran of the United States Army. Survivors include his beloved wife of 35 years; Bonnie (Robinson) Barnhouse, three children; Erin Marie Betz, Jeremy Lee Barnhouse (Ashley Crabtree) and Benjamin Tyler (Chelsie Leah) Barnhouse, four grandchildren; Amber Barnhouse, Dameon Barnhouse, Dominic Barnhouse and Alena Barnhouse, several great grandchildren, siblings; Donna Jones, Brenda Carter, Jane (Michael) Byrd, James (Valerie) Barnhouse and Bobby Joe Barnhouse and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son; Joshua Barnhouse and his parents. Services are pending. Memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield Cancer Center.
