George Douglas “Butch” Myers, 81, of Springfield, went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2026. Doug has joined his wife Carol and son Terry in Heaven. He was born December 25, 1944 to Noah and Margret (Carter) Myers. He graduated from Southeastern High School in 1962. Doug worked at International Harvester for 41 years before retirement. He took great pride in painting show trucks, enjoyed sports, and was an avid bowler. He was an outgoing guy who always had a joke or a story to tell. His surviving family members include his son, Mark (Shelly) Myers; his brother, Sam and nephew, Andrew; and in-laws, Barbara Dilluhunt, Gary (Diana) Evilsizor, and Larry (Debbie) Evilsizor. In addition to his wife and son, he was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Darlene Fain and Sue Evilsizor. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Wednesday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Doug’s nephew, Andrew, officiating. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Fletcher Chapel Cemetery. Condolences may be shared online at www.jkzfh.com.
