Gerald L. “Gary” Ault, 79, of Springfield, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024, in his home. He was born in Ashland, Kentucky on July 11, 1944, the son of William L. and Lorena G. (Lawhorn) Ault. He was a 1962 graduate of Middleport High Schol. Gary retired from International Harvester as a quality control manager, and his passion was riding motorcycles. He loved watching Ohio State football and basketball and love watching the Cleveland Browns play. In recent years, he was a great collector of knives, which he had in display cases throughout his man cave. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 ½ years Cheryl (Dague) Ault, children; Gerald “Todd” Ault (Tami), Shannon “Toby” Ault (Tonya), and Troy Dale Speckman (Stacy), grandchildren; Heather Ault, Lauren Ault Luther (Chris), Ashley Ault, Alissa Ault Andrews (Tyler), Jessica Speckman, and Devon Speckman, great-grandchildren; Kinsley, Damian, Elora, Valencia, Mavorie, Trenton, and Kasen, sisters; Kay Ault Logan (Ron) and Merri Ault Amsbary (Jim), brother; William “Perk” Ault (Vicki), sister-in-law; Charlotte Ault, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings, Dennis Jay Ault and Celesta Ault Coates, and his parents. Private services will be held for the family. Condolences may be shared at www.jkzfh.com.
