Gyasi Brantley Obituary

Gyasi L. Brantley, 44 of Springfield, Ohio, made his transition to eternal life on September 27, 2024 surrounded by family and friends at Ohio State Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Gyasi attended South High School in Springfield, Ohio, and he also attended Rancho High School in Las Vegas, NV where he played on the freshman varsity basketball team. He was a laid-back person who was devoted to his family and friends. He loved them dearly, and they loved him back. Gyasi was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were San Francisco 49ers and Ohio State Buckeyes. When possible, he enjoyed playing basketball, traveling, hanging out with friends and family, attending events, and listening to music.

Gyasi leaves to cherish his memories his father, Clinton (Glenda) Brantley; his mother, Gloria Moore Brantley; his siblings, Keith Wooster II, Rashad (Andrea) Brantley; special sister, Tehri (Mark) Brown; best friends, Marques (Tamara) Knox of Springfield, Ohio and Peter (Mia) Lee of Cleveland, Ohio.

He will always be lovingly remembered by his aunts and uncles; Ethel Ree Brantley Hensley, Rose Pearl Brantley Trimble, Patricia Brantley, Kathy Brantley, Penny Brantley Whitaker, Elsea (Derold) Bayes, Larry (Teri) Boyd, Carolyn (Troy) Miller, and Natasha Billingsley Knight.

His nieces and nephews; Kendrick Schliep, Tristan Robinson, Shania Wooster, Jazymn Brantley, Raelynn Brantley, and Jacoby Brantley.

His cousins; Alisha Brantley, Ricardo (Shawnita) Brantley, Wanda Brantley, Latoya (Brandon) Simpkins, Steve Mosley Brantley, Samuel Whitaker, Samaria and Tamaria Whitaker, Carla (Gary) Carter, Carlton Wood, and Branden Boyd.

His Las Vegas Family; Brandi Brown, Eric Brown, Leggett Yates, Darryl Yates, Penina Wiley Hansbrough, and Franko.

His entire “PFK” family! Along with a numerous amount of family and friends which is too many to name.

He was loved by many!

Gyasi was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clinton Sr. and Mattie Shively Brantley; his uncle, Michael Paul Brantley; his maternal grandmother, Thelma Moore Billingsley; and nephews, Keith Wooster III and Stephen Rummell.

The family would like to acknowledge the presence of his friends during his final days/ hours; Keenan (Nadia) Brown, Marques Knox, Ka'Rell Knox, Peter Lee, Joe Ruck, and Tony Williams, the friends who visited and called him. We know it meant a lot to him to be surrounded by so much love.

We would also like to thank the friends' calls and the FB posts of prayer and condolences.
