Hattie Harbison Obituary

Hattie Louise (Willis) Harbison, a beacon of love and gentleness, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, at the age of 79 in her hometown of Springfield, Ohio. Born on August 17, 1945, in the same nurturing community, Hattie's life was a testament to the enduring power of affection and thoughtfulness.

A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Hattie's family was the centerpiece of her life. She is survived by her adoring children, Carla Tossey (Bill), Marcey Rudy (Brian), and Jerry Harbison. Her legacy of love continues through her cherished grandchildren, Guy, Ashley, Justin, and Jessica, and her treasured great-grandchild, Caden. Hattie also leaves behind her caring sister, Linda Rockwell (Tom), her brother, Mike Willis, and her devoted nieces, Jennifer and Vicky, who will all hold her memory dear.

Hattie's days were filled with the simple pleasures that she valued so deeply. She was a passionate bird watcher, with a special fondness for the delicate dance of hummingbirds. Her love for 'Old Western' movies was well-known, as she could often be found quoting lines from her favorite films. Hattie also expressed her love through her cooking, creating meals that not only nourished the body but also warmed the heart.

Those who knew Hattie will remember her as the embodiment of love, thoughtfulness, and gentleness. Her ability to listen with an open heart and offer a comforting word was a gift to all who had the privilege of being part of her life. Her presence was a calm harbor in the bustling world, and her influence will continue to be felt by those who were fortunate enough to experience her kindness.

Hattie's life was a beautiful tapestry of relationships and moments that together tell a story of a woman who was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. As the sun sets on her time with us, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will live on in the memories we cherish and the love she so freely gave. Hattie's journey on earth has ended, but her story will be told for generations, a narrative of a life well-lived and a woman well-loved. Hattie’s wish was to be cremated.
