Ida May Ray, 78, of Springfield, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at Southbrook Care Center. She was born February 28, 1940 in Rushsylvania, Ohio, the daughter of William and Alice (Jones) Linebaugh. Ida had worked at Speedway as Assistant Manager at a regional store. She had been a member of the Eagles and Machinist Club. She enjoyed reading and playing bingo. Survivors include three children, Chip Ray, Richard (Laura Schondel) Ray, all of Springfield, and Peggy (Danny) Smith of Troy; daughter-in-law, Christina Ray; nine grandchildren, Jesse Smith, Jordan Ray, Severian Ray, Luna Schondel-Ray, Brittaney McHenry, Justin Ray, Traci Estrada, Kristin Abston, and Brandon Ray; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Harmon of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Ray; grandson, T.J. Walters; brothers, Richard, Gerald, and Orville Linebaugh; and her parents. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Chaplain Sam Berger officiating. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services.
