Jackie Bruce “Jack” Erwine, 81, of Springfield, passed away July 24, 2024, in Dayspring Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born September 25, 1942, in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of Russell and Juanita (Walsh) Erwine. Jack was retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a Captain in their fire department, a position he had held for many years. He had also been employed at Wright State University and was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed playing golf, being with his many friends but his most enjoyable times were spent with his grandchildren. Jack brought many smiles to the children in our area playing Santa Claus for several years. He is survived by the love of his life his wife, Kathy (Bolin) Erwine, two children, Roxanna Lough and Robert (Deanna) Lough, five grandchildren, Nathan (Heather) Lough, Gaige Lough, Maddisyn Hurst, Dylan Lough and Anna Lough, siblings, Teresa Arnold, Judy Wofter and Mike Hamill, half-sister; Cindy Jones and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Erwine and his parents. At Jack’s request, private services will be held with burial in Union Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio.
