James Deon Cammon

James Deon Cammon 50, of Springfield, went home to be with his Lord on August 22, 2025, in Northwood Assisted Living. He was born April 20, 1975, in Springfield, the son of Dorothy Elaine Young and Melvin Cammon Jr. James was a member of the First Church of the Open Bible, where he worked with the security team, and he was a graduate of Shawnee High School, He enjoyed basketball, football and spending time with his loving family and friends. He had been employed at Proctor and Gamble. James is survived by two sons; James Cammon and Aaden Olson, siblings; Melvin Cammon, Quincy Cammon, Donte Cammon and Kevin Cammon, aunts and uncles; Randall Young Sr. (Linda), Michael Young (Collett), Jeffrey Young (Kathy), Jonny Cammon, Andrew Hill, Mary Rose, Barb Young and Gloria, special friend; Jeremy, close cousin; Moses Allen Young, and the mothers of his children; Jessica Whitacre and Stephanie Yob. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Cammon Jr., grandparents; Moses A. Young Sr. and Gladys Young, aunts; Bonnie Crawford and Sara Hill and uncles; Moses Young Jr. and Dennis Young Sr. Memorial services will be held at 1:00PM Saturday, September 6, 2025, in the First Church of the Open Bible, 644 Selma Road, Springfield, with Pastor Jim Ballard officiating.
