James L. Smith

James L. “Jim” Smith, 81, of Springfield, passed away January 22, 2020 in his home. He was born February 19, 1938 in Springfield, Ohio. Jim was a member of the Eagles, Machinist, and Union Clubs, and he enjoyed playing pool and darts. Survivors include his loving companion, Janet Beverly; children, Jamie Lewis, David King, Jody Rice, Leroy Rice, Jade Smith; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including special granddaughters, Gloria Smith and Selina Evans; estranged wife, Tonya (Miller) Smith; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Smith and Pearl (Murnahan) Tackett; children, Penny and James Jr.; and siblings, Charles Smith and Mary Moodispaw.
