James Allan Whitt, Sr.

James Allan Whitt, Sr. born July 25, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at the Ohio Masonic Home in Springfield, Ohio. James was preceded in death by Linda, his wife of 44 years, his son James Jr., grandson Joshua Whitt, parents John and Marjorie (Butterfield) Whitt, and brother John Ellis Whitt. He leaves behind his daughter, Kathleen Francis, grandson Cody Francis (Seana), granddaughter Brooklyn Furrow (Alex), son Daniel, granddaughter Madison, grandson Gabriel, son Michael (Gemma), grandson Conner, son Joseph (Heather), granddaughter Isabella, sister Charlene Dorrance (James), and many nieces and nephews. Jim was active and volunteered in many community activities, most notably his many years in the Hunter Education programs where he mentored hundreds of students in firearm safety. He was a founding member of the Bucky Beavers, he enjoyed flying, was an avid trap shooter and was proud to be a 32nd degree Mason, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, and York Rite. James will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Burial Park. A celebration of life will  be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
