James "Jim" M. Hamilton

James “Jim” M. Hamilton, age 73 of Springfield passed away unexpectedly at the beginning of December 2024 in his home. He was born on April 26, 1951 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Woodrow “Woody” Hamilton and Kathleen (Lowe) Schoolcraft. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother David Hamilton and sister Linda McCoy. He leaves behind two sons, Dave and Zach; a daughter, Stephanie; and a stepdaughter, Annette; a sister, Susan “Red”; grandchildren Kaydence, Carter, Nolan, Byanca, and Jordy; his favorite nephew, David “Duck Head” McCoy; and many nieces and nephews. Jim was a die hard Cleveland Indians (Guardians) fan. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and spending his time driving around town visiting his friends. After being discharged from the Army, Jim spent his time as a garbologist for County Wide Refuge. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 6-8pm at Jones Kenney Zechman Funeral Home located at 1002 E. High St. in Springfield.
