Jerry Travis Chaney

Jerry Travis Chaney, 66, of Springfield, passed away September 23, 2024 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born March 18, 1958 in Middletown, Ohio, the son of Wayne Clyde and Minnie Lou (Dunn) Chaney. Mr. Chaney was known as a jack of all trades and was able to repair just about anything. He was employed in home improvement for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include five children, Kathy Sowers, Kimberly Sowers, Belinda Sowers, Jerry Wayne (Heather) Chaney, and Michael Chaney; grandchildren, Zach Sowers, Kyle (Jordyn) Sowers, Steven Hopkins, Bryan Ringler, Madison Lohnes, Alex Ringler, Blake Lohnes, Jerry Wayne Chaney, Jr., Travis Chaney, and Hayley Chaney; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bonnie (Daryl) Risner, Tony (Tina) Chaney, and Melinda Chaney; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Sue Chaney on December 30, 2021; one brother, Kenny Chaney; and his parents. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held from 5-8 pm Monday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Condolences may be shared at www.jkzfh.com.
