John Calvin Ford

John Calvin Ford, 78, of Springfield, passed away August 5, 2025 at Good Shepherd Village. He was born January 31, 1947 in Springfield, the son of Edison Leo and Ruth (Leffel) Ford. Mr. Ford was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked at several places through the years, including B & D Transport, Stevenson Heating and Air, Springfield City Schools, and he started and ran his own business-Allmec. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Springfield. John was known as a collector. He enjoyed collecting antiques, toys, and trains. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Johnnie (Jones) Ford; two sons, John Christopher (Lynna) Ford and Robert Edison “Eddie” Ford; grandchildren, Chris Cornelison, Cody Jessee, Destiny Ford, and Faith Ford; great-grandchildren, Ellie, Everlee, Brayden, Kaisley, and Paisley; and nephews and niece, Jeff, Doug, Jamie, and Julie. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eldon and Thomas Ford, and his parents. Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm Sunday with services beginning at 4:00 pm at the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be held at a later date at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
