John W. Souders

John W. Souders, 70, of Springfield, passed away December 9, 2024 at Ohio State University. He was born September 3, 1954 in Springfield. John was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. He retired from FedEx, where he had worked as a truck driver. John was a loving husband, a protective father and a very proud grandpa. He was wise, supportive and selfless. His family would describe him as gentle, humble, inspiring, thoughtful and an adored man. His family was his happy place. Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Theresa (Sullivan) Souders; six children, Christina (Jeremy) Funderburg, Tyna Sullivan, Rusty Souders, Jennifer Souders (Thomas Jones, Jr.), Jessica (Mike) Wells, and Jonathan (Shirley) Souders; grandchildren, Angel, Ashley, Kyle, Rylee, Zachary, Keila, Kiera, Jaylynn, Thomas III, Austin, Dawson, Kylee, Makaylin, Isaac, Tyler, Jayden, Maxwell, and Donavan; 13 great-grandchildren; five siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara (Wise) Dixon; father, Dale Souders; and five siblings. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
