Juanita Louise Smith

On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, Juanita L. Smith went to be with the Lord.  She was born on 7/3/1926 to Allen and Lillie Tabor (Collins), the first of thirteen children.  She was married to Herman Paul Smith.  Juanita was a loving mother of 5 children.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, and pictures.  She found joy in uplifting music, prayer, and the Lord.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Lillie Tabor (Collins); her husband, Herman Smith; two sons, Herman (Junior) Smith Jr and Cecil Smith; and nine siblings.  She is survived by her son, Richard Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Honor (Butch) and Pat Smith; and her daughter and son-in-law, Lily (Cathy) and Dallas Paul; two brothers, Stanley (Rudy) Tabor and Bud Tabor; grandchildren, Tommy Smith, Patricia Spencer, Bryan (Brenda) Smith, Stacie Dacanay, Shari Smith, Tara Smith, William (Shauna) Smith, Larry Smith, Tammie (John) Warman, La Donna (Doug) Rice, Barb (Greg) Otto, and Tom (Megan) Clemens; and many great and great-great grandchildren.

Juanita was a proud Rosie the Riveter at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.  She worked as a seamstress and upholstered furniture for many years.  She was a self-taught woman who believed she could learn anything she set her mind to.

While we grieve her loss, we find comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with loved ones and that we will be reunited with her one day.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 4-6pm at JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.  Condolences may be shared with Juanita’s family at www.jkzfh.com.
