Kathleen "Denise" Schmidt Obituary

Kathleen Mary “Denise” Schmidt, born on July 13, 1943 to Dennis and Kathleen “Kay” LaBlanc, was the first born in her family, followed by two brothers, Lawrence “Butch” and Bryan and two sisters, Tina and Trina “Bubby”. Because her parents were often away, she practically raised her siblings. She met Terry Schmidt when her dad brought him home one day, because his band was in need of a guitar player. Denise and Terry fell in love, married, and had two children, Karen (Maclin) and Donald. She enjoyed cross-stitching, puzzle books, games, gardening, watching movies, and feeding the stray cats in the neighborhood. She also has three grandchildren, Terry Schmidt II, Tony Schmidt, and Michael Brown, and one great-grandson, Andrew Schmidt, the son of Terry Schmidt II. Denise never finished school, though she did get her GED back in the 80’s. She also tried to follow The Way of the Most High, for she knew the Scriptures and understood what they mean. In October 2022, Denise had a stroke. In the beginning she was still able to walk and converse, but slowly she started to lose basic abilities, things becoming more and more difficult, until eventually she could no longer do any of those things. Denise left this earth on May 9, 2025. She is going to be greatly missed, but we as followers of The Most High know that she is in the good and light place, where only peace and love are present, happy her suffering is over. She always had a smile and words of wisdom (most of the time), and she is loved very much by many. Her generosity knew no limits; she was always working, whether around the house, the yard, or helping others. Denise will always be remembered as the most unselfish and loving person, who cared more for others than herself. Per her wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements entrusted to the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Condolences may be shared at www.jkzfh.com.
