Linda Irene (Stevens) Stigall

Linda Irene (Stevens) Stigall has completed her life journey, after ongoing health issues hindered her greatly, at the age of 69 on February 17, 2026 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. A few special family members showed her true love and support, for which she was extremely grateful. She was born on December 2, 1957 in Sumter, South Carolina at Tuomey Hospital, the daughter of Martha (Miller) Thompson and Hubert Thompson. She had a great love of the outdoors, family gatherings, angels, and cooking for others. Linda was previously a cook by trade but happily retired. This helped her to be able to raise her daughter/granddaughter, Laura Jane. The time spent with Laura Jane and cousin Yvette meant everything to her. She lived life on her own terms, with a spontaneous but loving spirit. Her love was true and she knew who loved her just the same. She was a great defender of those cast aside, overlooked, or unappreciated, especially those unjustly forgotten. Everything about Christmas brought her joy, especially decorating. She had fond memories of Ludlow Falls, Clifton Mill during Christmas, and collecting Coca-Cola trains. She is survived by her mother, Martha Thompson; sister, Jettie (Stevens) Vlaskovich; cousin, Yvette Grimes; daughter, Laura Williams; sons, Terry, James, Ricky Williams, Travis Vance, Delmar; niece, Tina Leach-Self; nephew, Dion Stevens; cousins, Howard and Penny Miller; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends throughout her life. She was preceded in death by grandpa, Phillip Miller; father, Hubert Thompson; infant son, Johnny Williams; brothers, Timothy “Tim” Sr., Charles “Charlie,” John Stevens; and niece, Martha Leach. Per Linda’s wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes will be buried. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be determined by her immediate family.
