Marcelline Lee “Marcy” Sanders, 80, of Springfield, passed away January 16, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 13 1945, in Bellefontaine, the daughter of Robert Earl Smith and Merl Louise (Daines) (Smith) Harmon. Mrs. Sanders enjoyed crafts and baking cakes but most of all she loved being with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She had been employed at the Barnes and Noble Book Store at Wittenberg University. Marcy is survived by her beloved husband of 62 ½ years; Charles Sanders, three children; Mike (Tammy) Sanders, Mark (Beverly) Sanders and Cindy Longberry, grandchildren, Amanda (Jeremy) Plantz, Steven (Tiffany) Sanders, Marcelline Abbey (Peterson), Jennifer Sanders, Jessica (Jonathan) Lawrence, Timothy Sanders, Chasey Grubbs (Bryan Brooks), Michelle Sanders, Christine Longberry, Courtnery (Drew) Clawson and Ryan Sanders, step grandchildren; Danielle Meyers, Christina Gerlough and Dylan Gerlough, twenty-four great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, two brothers; Robby (Jane) Smith and Rusty Smith, special niece; Teresa Detillion, dear friend; Jean Kinney and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son; Rodney Sanders, one foster son; Chuck Brown, siblings; Myronna Nagler and Richard Smith, dear friend; Margaret Beard and her parents. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 8:00PM Tuesday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERALHOME. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Ken Woode officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Condolences may be shared at www.jkzfh.com.
