Marlene Omega Shaffer

Marlene Omega Shaffer, 72, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2026, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 14, 1953, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, the daughter of Donald and Virginia (Jones) Dearmon. Mrs. Shaffer’s favorite times were spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had been employed at Eby Brown. Survivors include her beloved partner with whom she had spent the past fifty years; David Shaffer, two children; David Shawn (Jamie) Shaffer and Denise (Linc) Brooks, five grandchildren; Natalie Shaffer (Logan Wright), McKenzie Dixon (Logan Cox), Katelyn Shaffer (Kenny Oswald), Emily Brooks and Mason Brooks, four great grandchildren; Nolan Wright, Ellie Wright, Liam Thompson and Adalynn Cox, one sister; Mary (Lester) Cole one brother; Carl (Pam) Dearmon, brother in law and sister in law; Mark (Kathy) Shaffer and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her twin sister; Darlene Nicholas, three brothers. Bill Dearmon, Bernard Dearmon and Donnie Dearmon and her parents. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Thursday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Friday in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Chapel with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Burial will follow. Condolences may be shared at www.jkzfh.com.
