Mary Catherine Scott

Mary Catherine Scott, 61, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024 at Kettering Health Dayton. She was born January 22, 1963 in Washington DC. Mary was a member of Springfield First Church of the Nazarene. She was a talented painter, enjoyed reading her bible, and especially loved spending time with her family. She loved to cook for people and always made sure that everybody was well-fed and taken care of, no matter how she was feeling. Survivors include her two children, Eva (Christopher) Hudnell and Thomas Scott (Misty Yokley); grandchildren, Christopher II and Hunter Hudnell, Gambit Hand, Samantha Shepherd, and Makenzie Yokley; brothers, Mike (Vicky) Hamilton and Tim Hamilton; stepmother, Gail Hamilton; stepfather, Don Parks; sister-in-law, Diana “Dee-Dee” Hamilton; several nieces and nephews, including Coty Hamilton, Taylor Linton, and Tiffany Hamilton; and her beloved dogs, Oliver and Toby. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Hamilton; mother, Charlotte (McWhorter) Parks; and brother, Richard Hamilton. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Friday in the Springfield First Church of the Nazarene, 901 E. Home Rd. Springfield. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services.
