Mary “Diane” Hardman, 83, of Springfield, passed away April 22, 2026 at Forest Glen Healthcare Center. She was born on November 24, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Robert and Marilyn (Hart) Dillon. Diane received her master’s degree from Governors State University in Illinois. She retired from the Salvation Army Booth House in Dayton, where she worked as a drug and alcohol rehabilitation counselor. Following retirement, she enjoyed working as a greeter at Meijer for many years. Diane volunteered with the Democratic Party for a number of years. Being an active member of AA was something that was important to her. She was a true social butterfly. Survivors include her son, Dylan (Natalie) Hardman; stepdaughter, Kelley (Lee) Perry; grandchildren, Liam, Anniston, and Alexander; brother, Philip Dillon; sister, Claudia (Thomas) Millington; and nephews, Ian and Blake Millington. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Stanley Hardman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 30 in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME with Deacon Earl Rogers officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10-11 am. Graveside services and burial will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 6 at Dayton National Cemetery. Condolences may be shared online at www.jkzfh.com.
