Melody Lynn Taylor

        Melody Lynn Taylor, 73, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born on July 23, 1952 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Maurise Alexander II and Norma (Ankeney) Myers.

        Melody was a 1971 graduate of Troy High School and had worked for Assurant for several years. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for her love of her children and her beloved cat “Jinx”

        Survivors include her two sons Steven (Brenda) Persinger and Lenvil Persinger; sisters Cheryl Flory and Anita Myers; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her daughter Cassie (Persinger) Einhaus; brothers Maurise “Rick” Alexander III and Lawrence “Larry” Myers, Jr.; father Maurise Alexander II; mother and stepfather Norma and Lawrence Myers, Sr.

        The family plans to have a celebration of Melody’s life at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones-Kenney-Zechman Funeral Home. Condolences may be shared online at www.jkzfh.com.
